The Honourable Bob Rae, P.C., C.C., O.Ont.
The Honourable Bob Rae, P.C., C.C., O.Ont., has had a distinguished career in Canadian public life spanning more than half a century. He served as Premier of Ontario from 1990 to 1995, was elected to federal and provincial parliaments 11 times between 1978 and 2013, and served as interim Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. From 2020 to 2025 he was Canada’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He is currently the Matthews Faculty Fellow in Global Public Policy at the Queen’s School of Policy Studies. He has taught public policy at the University of Toronto, where he is a Distinguished Fellow and Visitor at Massey College, and is the author of nine books. A Privy Councillor, he is also a Companion of the Order of Canada, and a member of the Order of Ontario.
L’honorable Bob Rae, C.P., C.C., O.Ont., mène depuis plus d’un demi-siècle une prestigieuse carrière au service du Canada. Il a été premier ministre de l’Ontario de 1990 à 1995 et a été élu député fédéral ou provincial à 11 reprises entre 1978 et 2013. Il a également occupé les fonctions de chef par intérim du Parti libéral du Canada. De 2020 à 2025, il a été ambassadeur et représentant permanent du Canada auprès des Nations unies.
