Faizel Gulamhussein
Faizel Gulamhussein has extensive experience as a political staffer at the federal level, where he served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of National Revenue and, subsequently, to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard. He also served in the Office of the Minister of Canadian Heritage.
A lawyer by training, Faizel previously worked in the tax practice group of a major global law firm and on the tax advisory team of a large international accounting firm.
Faizel has held roles at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia and at the European Parliament. He has served two terms on the McGill University Senate.
Faizel is an avid traveller, with a curious mind, who enjoys being active and sharing a good meal with friends. Born in Alberta, Faizel has also lived in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec. He is a graduate of Simon Fraser University and McGill University.
Faizel Gulamhussein possède une vaste expérience des milieux politiques fédéraux. Il a notamment été chef de cabinet de la ministre du Revenu national, puis de la ministre des Pêches, des Océans et de la Garde côtière canadienne. Il a également travaillé au cabinet de la ministre du Patrimoine canadien.
Avocat de formation, M. Gulamhussein a exercé au sein du groupe de fiscalité d’un grand cabinet d’avocats international, puis dans l’équipe de services-conseils en fiscalité d’un important cabinet comptable international.
Son parcours l’a également amené à travailler à l’Assemblée législative de la Colombie-Britannique et au Parlement européen. Il a en outre siégé pendant deux mandats au Sénat de l’Université McGill.
Grand voyageur à l’esprit curieux, M. Gulamhussein aime l’activité et les repas entre amis. Il est né en Alberta et a également vécu en Colombie-Britannique, en Ontario et au Québec. Il est diplômé de l’Université Simon Fraser et de l’Université McGill.
